GISOL HISTORY
A site at Gisol.com has been in existence in one form or another, since the late 1990s. The site and business operated at this domain from 2000 to 2013 was called Global Internet Solutions, or "GISOL" (most likely borrowed or inspired from Network Solutions being commonly known as "NETSOL", in the early days of the World Wide Web). For the time being, we've borrowed the same moniker.

Operating as a web hosting business and domain registrar between 2000 and 2013, GISOL, Inc. apparently had a sizable customer base, but was eventually involved in significant scandal, when many people who claimed to be current and previous customers began voicing concerns in a long, well-documented list of seemingly incomprehensible indiscretions allegedly made by the operators of that business. (The last link is an archived site created solely to assist alleged victims of these issues. While it's no longer active now, all the previous information highlighted there can still be viewed through Archive.org).

In 2007, according to public records, GISOL, Inc. hosted more than 9,000 domains, for an undisclosed number of customers. While it's unclear how many may have been hosted before that, by early 2012, that number had dwindled to around 400 domains, and eventually, none. If you were one of the alleged victims of the operators of that business between 2000 and 2013, feel free to add the issues you experienced to the considerable list of people on this blog post, voice your issue in one of the public forums mentioned above, on your own site, or social media account.

While the current management of the site at this domain has nothing to do with the previous operators involved in the aforementioned allegations, we do encourage anyone who may have felt wronged by their alleged actions, to independently continue any and all legal proceedings. We cannot however, directly offer assistance to that end.

Why bring this all up? Unfortunately, due to the alleged actions of the previous operators of the site associated with this domain, any site currently located at Gisol.com does not enjoy largely positive attention. While conducting the due diligence during the process of acquiring this domain and planning to develop a site on it, its history of how it may have been used up until just a few years ago became nauseatingly apparent. We hope to begin to rehabilitate that, in at least a basic, legitimately caring way. As responsible site operators, we feel we'd be remiss if we didn't at least acknowledge and address the issues that a previous visitor coming back to this site might have a very real interest in being concerned with, someone who is visiting this site for the first time might have heard about, or to at least educate future visitors.

Despite any negative attention, this domain itself has considerable value. Due to its significant age, ranking and traffic, Gisol.com's current acquisition will be used to highlight insights and recommendations regarding the Internet, in hopes to helping visitors discover worthwhile information, online properties, find reliable, trustworthy hosting & domain registration and avoid getting into any sort of the heinous issues that customers previously associated with this site claimed to have experienced. After all "global", "internet" and "solutions" are three good keywords that both separately and together, we hope to appropriately represent at this new site.

Part of the purpose of reestablishing a new site at this domain, apart from attempting to mend its previous questionable history, is to improve its overall value, as an independent online property, and rebuild confidence in the quality of the information offered here. We think of it as a piece of property where something awful allegedly happened, but still has value for future use, after beginning to be rehabilitated. Due to the positive qualities of this domain, alone - being a short, pronounceable .com name, that's been registered consistently for more than a decade and a half (two thirds of the entire age of the World Wide Web, to date), with notable ranking and solid traffic - offers for purchase of this domain are currently being accepted, as well.
